Fans needed now... let's all help.

Here's the information on how you can help senior citizens without an air conditioner who need a fan  to cool off.

The fans generally cost anywehre between $12-to-$18 each.

The Aging Commission of the Mid-South needs donations. They prefer you donate a 20” box fan, but they will also take cash. If you would like to donate a fan, call (901) 452-0340. They are also looking for volunteers to deliver the fans. To qualify for a free fan you must be 65 or older or an adult with a disability.

The also need volunteers to help with deliveries.

I think people should get small air conditions, say about 5000btu.MLGW has use up so much tax payer money I am sure they can afford to give seniors citizens a small air condition.
Fans only blow hot around the room not cool it.
I am a senior citizen.

You're right.  Fans don't cool off a room, but they do cool off people.  They have an evaporative cooling effect on the human body which actually helps.

Maybe MLG&W should help with air conditioners, but in the meantime, this is a great way to help some people who really need it.

Thanks for your comment.  I'm glad you're watching.

Cameron,
Most of the time when memphis has these fan giveaways,,they are good and all but usauly the lazy welfare queens are the ones that get these fans. Since they don't work they have plenty of time to scam for fans..
