Germantown Police and the Secret Service are investigating an identity theft ring that was working out of a Germantown steak and seafood restaurant.
Police said 32-year-old Jessica Holden was arrested on charges of stealing customers' credit card numbers and storing them in a portable swiping device. Holden then sold or traded the information to an unidentified third party, police said.
Theresa Baker, owner of Mister "B's" restaurant, told Eyewitness News Everywhere she became aware of the problem in the late summer when customers started calling to complain of bogus credit card charges shortly after visiting the restaurant. Baker said the operation was shut down after a few weeks, but not before about 150 customers had their information stolen.
Baker said she too feels like a victim and has taken new security measures at her restaurant to prevent any future security breach.
