I think this 16 year old knew exactly what she was doing and should be prosecuted for it.  She wasted precious time and resources looking for her that could have been used to combat legitimate crime.

And the scary thing is everytime some idiot pulls a stunt like this, like the runaway bride, the next time people will think it's just someone "crying wolf."  Someone who has a legitimate problem might go without help.

No you did not abc24, only a coward wants to remain anonymous, and post comments. that are negative and hurtful. @logic, i agree with you, not only that i wish they allowed us to  pull straws to slap the taste out of her mouth, and beat her down, until she could'nt stand up, also i wish i could be in the room to see what her mother says about her stupid stunt, she makes it really bad for the people who really need the amber alert, I  wish they would send her family a bill for 10,000 dollars part of the payment would be a fine, and she should be made to  do community service, like clean bed-pans for the seniors, in  nursing homes for a year. I am so upset and sick of stupidity.

If these kids had the fear of parents, police, teachers, and God that we did in the
1960's they would never have thought of doing something like this.  A respectful fear of Jesus and stronger and longer punishment would solve a lot of that girl's problems.

I think she should do some kind of community service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  She should be punished for being stupid first of all, there are alot of people who are being kidnapped and playing like you are is just plain stupid!  I don't think she should do hard time, but she should be taught a lesson! Kidnapping is not a joke, she should talked to the parents of some the people who have been kidnapped and she how it has affected their families! Last but certainly not least, she needs and ol fashion ass whipping!!!!!!!!!

I believe in giving the benefit of the doubt. maybe she didn't know that telling a lie like that would cause such chaos with police. But, like Logic said above. Give her the bill. If she doesn't have a job, community service until she is 18, or longer. Bet she'll never do that again, no?

What are people thinking these days?  Runaway Bride, Audrey Seeler, that pregnant attorney in Toledo...just ridiculous!  As if there isn't enough real horror going on in the world.  I appreciate all of the comments about giving her what she has coming...God help my child if they ever even think of doing such a thing!!! Shame on each of you for acting like a 5 year-old to get attention--GROW UP!!!
