It is irrelevant that this man is a firefighter.  It is irrelevant that he is black.  What is relevant is that he is a wife beater.  He committed assault.  He should be punished.  

Is this really news? Happens all the time, across all races, jobs, and socioeconomic statis, this published because.....?

This is continuing to be a race issue when it is really not about race.  The truth of the matter is that things like this happen all the time.  It gets publicized more when it is involving black people, but this is not what we should be focusing on. The danger of the situation is the focus.  This man is beating on his wife.  He should be punished for that.  He should not be punished because of his race.  We need to stop doing this to each other!!!!!!!!!

I have a major problem with this coward putting his hands on his wife. He need to be punished to the fullest. Black or not he need to keep his hands to his self. I feel that if a man hits a women he is weak man. He hits her because she allows it to happen. Now, for his wife I know it is hard but she need to get some HELP and try to get out of that situtation.

He is a coward! It is highly unlikely that he would ever attempt to take his fustrations out on a real man.  This is truly a case of Lt. Johnnie Harrison being the punk he is.

I dated this guy in high school.  He date raped me.  I knew he was violent, and this is no surprise to me.

This is not the first incident with this guy. He has beat his wife on many occassions. I just hope that she stays strong and leave him before he ends up killing her.  She has taken him back over and over again.

Things happen to revoke a man to go the distance with anybody.  For those of you that think walking away and hitting a woman is wrong just continue living and when the situation knocks on your door let's see you walk away.  

And for those women that think hitting a woman is bad, ask yourself why do we continue to push the buttons on a man that will revoke to escalated violence.  

And for the reporter, we understand that it is your job to report and hope that you can get a .50 raise for stories of this magnitude.  My question for you is why didn't you do investigation to find the other side of the story.  Find out what did the woman do to get this treatment.

And for the men that think he is coward and that he need to take his fustrations out on a real man.  I tell you this... run up on him and see what happens to ya.  Don't think for one second that you gone hit him and he gone turn the other cheek.  He may turn but come back around with some tough azz moves.

You know had I have heard this story or seen it portrayed on the news maybe I would have drawn the same conclusions however I didn't just hear it I am a part of it.  Contrary to what you think there are circumstances that make this story very different from what you may believe at first glance.   The so called victim is so many things other than that.  Because I don't want to drag down the reputation of both the parties and have their kids read this mess some day regarding both their parents I will keep the details to myself.  Just know that if you really knew what happened both times your responses would possibly be different.  As for not surprised I wish you would state your name because I have known this person my entire life and everyone he's dated so I'm sure you know me.  I'd love to have you recount that for me.  You know it is easy to kick a person when they are down and all you have is a one sided account of something that is way more complicated, detailed and sorted.  Contrary to this he is an upstanding man, good father, and professional who deserves not to be convicted by public opinion that is completly skewed by ignorance   (which means lack of knowledge).  

Ok folks if you havent learned by now, which most of us learn this when we are very early in age, there are always THREE sides to every story..her side, his side and the truth. While I dont condone putting hands on anyone i would ask for you all and any you may share this with to realize that none of us know what actually happened.  There are women in this world who will do some unscrupulous things in order to fulfill an agenda.  I ask that you reserve your judgment until the whole truth is out or if nothing else realize that the allegations may not be true.

Scenario: Man ccheats on a woman, woman cheats on the man. Resentment sets in. The man has to walk on eggshells because anything will setup a woman scorned.  Argument ensues, the woman seeks to hurt the man and tries each and every way that she can. up to and including trying to ruin his career.

Look, my over all point is that none of us are in positions to pass judgement because of our own sins, demons and secrets.
We also all know that the MPD and no other big city police care anything about the truth especially when it comes to incarcerating black men.  
Were there any physical bruises to corroberate her story? any witnesses?
Funny the media rushed to start a witch hunt based on information given to them but no investigation was done as to its validity.

So unless any of you were there first hand you may want to stop looking to have your ears tickled and ask yourself why this story is being so publicized.
I truly hope the publics readiness to see someone destroyed because of what is obviously a more sorted truth than we know doesnt result in this man losing his career which will ultimately result in hurting him, his kids and even his wife.

Regardless of the circumstances, regardless of whom is abusing whom .. is it always best to walk away!!!!!!!!! Domestic violence is ridiculous, if when you have to fight, physically or verbally with someone that you love and someone who loves you .... 1. No man or woman has any right to infringe harm on another man or woman, so yes, punish dude!

I have had encounters with women have been the victim of abuse. Most women know just how far to "push" men and actually thrive on their partners violent tendencies. Then, there are those women who are trying to "please" their partners and the men just violent because. A young lady I know was beaten to death by her ex-boyfriend. This is the same man (and I use that term loosely) who had beaten every other young lady he had been with. A young lady told me that she didn't leave him because she loved him and he would change. I don't know the specifics of this particular couple involved, but women should know that a man who hits you DOES NOT love you.
