This is sad, it had to come to this, but for the safety of everyone this is the right choice. School administrators, Great Decision.  Yes this is fair.

Yes, this decision is the right decision.
You think that the crowd would know a little more about basketball. People get fouled. Sometimes intentionally, sometimes not.  Someone gettin fouled is no reason to act like a bunch of wild animals. I swear, some people just look for any excuse to use thuglike behavior.

Funny this only happened once when I was in High School.  CBHS was playing Hamilton for the state championship playoffs.  We won (the state too.)  When our team and coaches went to shake hands with the opposing coaches and team our lead coach was viciously beaten by several Hamilton players leading to the stands being emptied and a brawl.

No shots were fired - I am sure today someone would have been capped.

There was a similar lack of impulse control shown here but I just can't figure out why????

When people (young or old) feel fighting is the way to express their dislike of something or someone,  they should be banned. It’s a matter of being taught, and understanding, how to act in a  civilized manner.

Skinny Bill, dont try to make this a black or white thing, there has been games where whites started brawls to in a game, remember the detroit pistons vs the indiana pacers game yeah, it is a good decision, because fans can take the game over the boarder, hell look at the chicago cubs fans when that fan made a mistake and caught the ball and the umpires called it a home run that cost them the chance to go to the world series, the fans threatened the guy who caught the ball with death, and wanted him to leave the city of Chicago,

And they should have had security there, knowing the two teams are heated rivals,

@east memphis, the one who initiated the brawl was a white guy throwing items at the basketball players, and they were the ones challenging the players on the court for a fight, and one actually went to jail for striking a player from behind in the back of the head, I guess you didnt watch the game, if you didnt go on you tube im pretty sure,

whites commit the same acts as blacks does, you just dont hear about it on the news as much,

Im not defending the black students who was in the brawl, Im all for the punishment and suspensions, im just saying dont make this a race issue again,

Its a little harsh. The punishment. Suspend those who were involved. But, not letting students go to games? That's ridiculous. Why don't you just tell the teams to just come back next year and screw the season? That's unfair huh? So is this.

the school was atlantic high school in port orange fla. the next game atlantic played (using their jv squad) they still won.

I can't believe you are making this into a race issue.  It doesn't matter if they were black, white, or anything else.  The fact of the matter is that a brawl erupted and the school officials acted (pay attention MCS).  Some of you may think this was an overreaction.  I probably wouldn't have made the same decision, but I can promise you that next season, there won't be any fighting going on there, not with administrators who not only talk tough, but prove it.  Because of that, I have to respect their decision.  

Anyhow, I just couldn't believe that, not only race was brought up, but that SkinnyBill automatically assumed they were black.  And before you jump on me about this post, SkinnyBill, I'm white, so quit throwing around the race card.  You're giving us a bad name.

I watched the game - Artest is a large animal with no impulse control.  And it might have helped if he would have assualted the "right" people.  But any white boy will do in that situation.  Your view is he is right to disrupt the game and then physically strike uninvolved participants after others in the crowd throw drinks at him - I think that is wrong but we can agree to disagree.
