According to a news release from District Attorney Mike Dunavant’s office, a Methodist minister in Middleton, Tennessee, has been arrested for a second time on a sex charge.

Prosecutors say Brian Riley, formerly of Middleton First United Methodist Church, was arrested January 18th, and charged with "sexual battery by an authority figure."

A release from Dunavant’s office says TBI investigators found “sexually explicit images which depicted minors engaged in sexual activity or simulated sexual activity” on three computers seized from Riley’s home and church.
As of Wednesday afternoon, January 23, 2007, Riley was being held in the Hardeman County Jail on $500,000 bond.

In December, Riley was charged with “sexual battery by an authority figure.”

He is due in court on March 11th.

Prosecutors say they’re turning evidence over to the FBI Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

That's disgusting!  However, isn't it amazing that it's not only Catholic priests with this problem?

This how they deal with pedophiles in some countries.......

In Malaysia they have a punishment called "Stumping."  At sunrise they take a rusty nail while your hands is tied in back of you, and give you a choice of which testicle they hammer the nail through till sunset.

That would be good for starters......

Why was the 15 year old foreign exchange student still in the preacher's home after a previous charge?  Where is she from?  Could it be that she is from a foreign county where the sex trade is an open market and she was sent here for this very purpose?  I understand that many of the church members have keys to that parsonage and have been known to invade it and go through the preacher's belongings when he and his family were away.  Could it be that some low life got it in for him and planted that trash to ruin him?  Either way his life is ruined.  He may be guilty, but we should not rush to judgement.

The Catholics get all the press because the Catholic church is the richest landowning international org in the world - DEEP POCKETS.  The evangelicals have a huge problem that is usually just covered up unless it is a church like Bellevue with mucho assets and high profile.  Baptists and Catholics are huge targets because of their Pro life stance and large political clout.

Remember ... This is a CHURCH, the body of Christ. There will be no castration, fire-shooting tanks, cover-up, 'stumping', or any other illegal punishment done by the UMC. He will be punished according to Tennessee law and United Methodist Church law, where he will never again serve as a clergyman. And yes, God will be with him. Fortunately for all of us, we do not have to deserve God's love ... It's called GRACE. But most of all, God will be with the victim and the congregations who are all suffering more than we can even imagine.

Cop poses as girl, 13, snags mayor online

His latest catch was the biggest: four felony enticement charges against a town mayor, who after his arrest called Murray up and begged him to make the case go away.

Nineteen other defendants have included a Missouri furniture company executive, an Arkansas professor and a Tulsa, Oklahoma, school security guard. Ten of those men have been convicted and sent to prison. One was deported.
