Bartlett Police arrested a man accused of raping a woman he knew after making her take off her clothes, clean her house and walk outside in the snow.
The incident happened Friday, March 7, 2008 - the day snow hit the Mid-South.
John Warren, 35, is charged with domestic assault, vandalism, aggravated rape, false imprisonment, and reckless endangerment.
According to a police report, the victim said Warren was at her home and he became angry during a discussion about their troubled relationship. She said he went into the carport and hit the hood of her car with a log splitting maul, then went back into the house and began breaking pictures and glasses.
The victim said Warren then demanded she clean up the mess. While cleaning, she said he ordered her to take off her clothes and then made her go outside and stand in the snow. She said he warned her, if she made a sound, he would beat her.
According to the police report, after standing outside for 10 to 15 minutes, he told her to come back inside the house and clean again. The victim told police she was afraid to leave the house because her 5 year-old daughter was inside. She said while she was cleaning, Warren kicked and beat her, then made her perform oral sex. The victim told police at that time, she was going in and out of consciousness. The victim said he then told her to go into a bedroom where, she says, he raped her.
After the alleged rape, the victim said Warren made her go back into the kitchen and clean the refrigerator. She said he also began beating her again.
Police say they saw bruises on the victim and they say they found a 9mm gun and the log splitting maul at the home.
