10 Year-Old Tennessee Girl Attempts to Rob Gas Station in Franklin

FRANKLIN, Tenn. (AP) -- Franklin Police say a 10 year-old girl who ran away from home tried to rob a gas station.

Police say the girl struck a Mapco Express clerk with a rock three times and demanded money. The rocks were all she was armed with.

The clerk called police and the girl was placed back with her parents. The clerk did not suffer serious injuries.

Police say the girl ran away from home Monday night, March 24, 2008, but it appears that she has a stable home life.

Authorities are still trying to determine what led her to try to rob the store before they decide if they will charge her with attempted robbery. The girl's name has not been released because she is a juvenile.

This child has more problems than running away from home.  She committed assault.  It seems she needs some counseling and maybe anger management.  Perhaps a little parental authority in the form of a good swift kick to the behind wouldn't hurt either.

This child should be considered harmed and dangerous. She needs help asap! I wonder what her parents think of this. First running away, then trying to rob someone. Sit her little *** in juvenile with the rest of the youngsters.
