Lakeland, Florida (CNN/WTSP) – Police say eight Florida teenagers are under arrest after they were accused of beating another teen, videotaping it, and threatening to put the video on the internet.
According to investigators, one girl was jumped by six other girls when she arrived at a friend's home on March 30, 2008.
Police say two boys waited outside as lookouts during the beating.
The girl was taken to the hospital with a concussion, damage to her left eye and ear, and numerous bruises.
The victim's father says the girls wanted to create a video that would become popular on You Tube. But the mother of one of the arrested teens says the victim provoked the attack by threatening and insulting the girls on My Space.
