If a man who had been drinking were coming towards me in that manner in a vehicle--that is intent to do bodily harm with a deadly weapon.  I would shoot.

Justified homicide??? How often do we say "the police didn't have to kill him"? Well, maybe I should quit my job and become a security guard at least then I could get away with MURDER!!!  Why wasn't the "real" police called before the incident progressed any further.  Why?  This thirty-eight year old father of two who worked hard everyday and most importantly took care of his family.  Now his children have no father to help raise them and we all know how important it is for our little black boys and all children to have their father with them especially one that is in the house taking care of them.  I do not feel that he attempted to run over that security guard. I hope Mr. Security Guard watched the news and saw the devastation he caused in the family of MR.ANDRE MCLAREN. I feel the situation should have been handled differently and at no time should a man have been gunned down the way this man was! This is an example of cold blooded murder beware people in Memphis  the security guards are coming...

So they just killed an inocent man with two kids and a wife. To irishoaks the man was not driving toward the guard he was going to pick his wife up at the front door. Get all the facts before u speak. Ask yourself if the man was coming toward u you would have shot at the front not the driver side window and door.  no bullets hit the front of the car. all was on the side so how is that heading toward u.  They kiiled an inocent but not drunk man in cold blood. because if he was drunk his wife would have drove.

Doing donuts in a parking lot after being escorted out, in front of armed security guards in Memphis! I guess he was bored while waiting for his wife to pay the bar tab. Looking for more trouble and got more then he wanted, now his family has to suffer for it. Thin out the herd some more.

That's not why people get killed everyday in Memphis.  People get killed in Memphis because of a lack of Ree'.  Disrespect Kills.  There was all kind of disrespect going on here.

Senseless is all I can say! This is so sad that a security guard can kill a man for doing doughnuts in the parking lot and get away with it. When the guard was making his statement to the police did he ever tell them that the reason Dre was put out the club was for arguing with the pregnant waitress who just so happen to be the security guard's girlfriend. Did he tell the police how brutally bad Andre was beaten by security before being escorted out to his car. See when you are only given partial details about a situation you can make dumb judgements calls YOU HEAR THAT DISTRICT ATTORNEYS!!!!

It does sound a little fishy to me.  There's got to be more to it than what is being reported right now.

IMO this is far less justified than the shooting last week involving a man woken at 5 am to someone tearing up and ripping off his car.  The guard here was wide awake, had his faculties, and was not in front of the vehicle - at least from the pics I have seen I don't see any bullet holes in the windshield.

And that is not to say this shooting is not justified - it may be.

And, this may be a dumb comment, but if a car is coming toward you, can't you just get out of the way rather than shoot at the driver?

If Dre was coming at the guard in the truck and the guard felt as if he was going to hit him then why didn't any bullet holes appear in the front of the truck. Furthermore I person can move quicker than a car to get out of the way of the car. I will be soon married into the family of Mr. McLauren and over the years that I have known him all I can say is good things about him, he was an excelleant father to his boys and a magnificent cook. He will truly be missed by us all. A little man with a big heart! I love you Angie, Baby Dre, and Amare' be blessed.

for the last time if the car was headed toward the guard he would have shot at the front of the car not at the side threw the driver side window. like i said its all a coverup to protect there own. his wife shouldn't give up and  get the whole truth out in the open. i'm trying to get the story to cnn and the world i'm hitting every sit i can to let people know what went down to see if we can get the guard to tell the real truth

I don't know whether this is a justified shooting or not.  I hope there is still some investigating going on.  Now, in all fairness, it doesn't sound like this individual was the total calm and loving angel that you all are making him out to be.  According to the news reports he was fighting in the bar and he was drunk.  This is not meek and mild behavior.  That does not necessarily make it okay that he was shot and killed, but I think there's enough responsibility and blame to spread around.

That security guard and his girlfriend need to be locked up and that club should be closed down!   But, it really doesn't matter what is said. I FELL HE DID NOT HAVE TO KILL THIS MAN. HE WAS JUST TRIGGER HAPPY. The police and the district attorney is covering up for the guard thats why you haven't heard the rest of the story. The police say they ar on your side but when its black on black they don't care.  If it would have been a cop killed they would have no problem putting u in jail.  The police no the guard was having a baby they didn't want him to to jail where his kids would see him.  Every needs to write to the district attorney office so they can reopen this case and tell the truth.  Thats why people don't trust the memphis police. Because if they can get away with murder why do u think people don't help them.  As long as the goverment,mayor, police,and district attorney are getting paid they only think of themselves.

And another thing they didn't tell people the suv was by the bank so what was the guard doing by the bank he was supose to be at the bar door. After they jumped him in the bar they followed him to the suv. He was trying to get to his wife before they jumped him again. The guard was supose to be at the door not following dre in the parking lot. Like I said all along a cover up.
