Police say Mississippi Man Stabbed and Ran Over Girlfriend With Car

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - A 33 year-old man is in jail in the slaying of his girlfriend.

Jackson Police Department spokesman Sgt. Jeffery Scott said 33 year-old Tracy Collier was stabbed repeatedly in the head, face, chest and stomach.

And after being stabbed, the mother of six was run over by a car in the front lawn of her south Jackson home. She died at the scene Monday.

Scott said Torrian Holmes was her live-in boyfriend and the father of several of her children, police said. He was being held Tuesday in the Hinds County jail pending an initial court hearing.
