SWEETWATER, Tenn. (AP) - A part time Sweetwater police officer has been charged with stealing about $23,000 from the department last fall.

Christopher Green, 45, is wanted for allegedly stealing the money from the evidence room.

Police said a routine inventory check in September found that a large amount of money was missing.

Investigators believe Green may have left the country.
