UT Students to Protest Ban of Handguns on Campus

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Some University of Tennessee students plan to protest state laws and university policies that bar handguns on campus.

The students say they will wear empty gun holsters, beginning Monday, April 21, 2008.

UT senior student Nathan Robinson said it would be part of a nationwide protest by a group called Students for Concealed Carry on Campus.

Robinson said the weeklong protest would be limited to wearing holsters, wearing T-shirts and passing out fliers.

State lawmakers recently voted down a bill that would have allowed faculty and staff members to carry handguns on state college campuses if they had valid permits.

We need victim zones (like schools) so the spree killers can have safe targets.   They all kill themselves at the first sign of armed resistance.
