MEMPHIS, TN - Memphis Police say the man responsible for several home invasions and sexual assaults is off the streets. Police say Kim Eddy is being held in jail on several charges: he was arrested Saturday, May 31, 2008, after police say they received a tip.
Investigators believe Eddy may be responsible for as many as nine robberies and four sexual assaults of women over the past few weeks. Police say all of the incidents happened in apartment complexes in East Memphis, Southeast Memphis, and Cordova.
Eyewitness News Everywhere uncovered Eddy has a lengthy criminal record:
- 2002: Charged for having sex with a prostitute
- 2003: Charged on several counts of domestic assault and assault
- 2003: Charged with reckless driving
- 2004: Arrested for vandalism
- 2005: Arrested for illegally having a gun
- 2006: Arrested for domestic assault. Court documents show Eddy kept a woman inside her house for two days and beat her several times. He was also arrested for stealing a car in 2006.
- 2007: Eddy was picked up for violating his probation
- March 2008: police say he and another man broke into a house on Hacks Cross Road and stole cars and other items
Eddy has also been arrested several times for driving on a suspended or revoked license.
If officially charged, Eddy will face charges of sexual battery, aggravated robbery and rape, assault, and resisting arrest.
