Memphis, TN- Police are still trying to catch a break that will lead them to a killer on the loose in Memphis.
58 year-old Becky Neeley was found dead in her Hickory Hill home on Wednesday, June 18, 2008. Police say she was strangled. Two days later, police released pictures of a man caught on camera using the victim’s ATM card in her Ford Explorer.
Neeley’s friends are pleading to the community for help in solving this case.
"I don’t think anyone who knew her would do this intentionally because she was always doing something good for somebody else,” says Deb Elliott.
Neeley worked at a local nursing home and also volunteered with the Mid-South Greyhound adoption group and a group called “Helping Hounds”.
Friends don't know why Neeley was targeted. They say she did wear a lot of jewelry, but most of it was costume. Police will not tell us the exact location of the ATM where this guy used her bank card, but we do know police did find Neeley's SUV.
Neeley didn't have any children and lived alone. When police found her, there were nine greyhounds and two cats in the house. Those animals have been taken into foster homes.
