MEMPHIS, TN – U.S. Marshalls say they are searching for a violent fugitive who was accidentally released after an administrative error.
According to authorities, Melvin Johnson has been on the run since July 4, 2008. Marshalls say Johnson and his brother, Tracy Johnson, were arrested after they were accused in a string of violent robberies that happened in 2006. During the armed robberies, the victims were forced to take off their cloths before they were assaulted by the crooks, according to U.S. Marshalls.
Marshalls say Johnson was last seen in the area of Trigg Avenue and Glenn where some of his family members live. He is described as a Black male, about 6 feet tall, weighing 210 pounds, and has gold teeth. Johnson has a cross tattoo on his right forearm and a skull with a smoking gun on his left forearm.
Marshalls say Johnson is extremely dangerous and should not be approached. If anyone knows the whereabouts of Melvin Johnson, call the U.S. Marshalls at (901) 544-3304. Authorities say there is a reward, up to $2,000, being offered for information leading to Johnson’s arrest.
