Elderly Man Accused of Shooting Wife to Death in Mississippi

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Bond has been set at $100,000 for an 83 year-old man accused in the shooting death of his elderly wife.

McKinley Lott's bond was set Monday during an initial appearance in Jackson Municipal Court.

Lott has been charged with murder in the weekend shooting death of 72 year-old Lee Vera Lott. The woman's body was found by police on Saturday in the couple's home.

The shooting is still under investigation.

Lott was returned to the Hinds County jail.
