MEMPHIS, TN – A Memphis man is behind bars after being charged in connection with a July 7th homicide.
Detectives say 37 year-old Kelvin Townsel has been charged with voluntary manslaughter in the shooting death of Rodney Manning, 31.
According to investigators, Police found Manning’s body in a vacant lot at Trigg Avenue and South Lauderdale Street around 3:40 p.m., Monday, July 7, 2008. Police say Manning had been shot several times.
Townsel and Manning had been fighting, before the shooting happened, said investigators.
Detectives say Townsel was arrested on Monday, July 14, after receiving an anonymous tip.
