JELLICO, Tenn. (AP) - A child's bones were found 23 years ago and now state investigators have released a reconstruction of what the little girl would have looked like.
The reconstruction is based on the skull of the 11 to 13 year-old girl, whose skeletal remains were found on April 3, 1985, in Campbell County, near the Kentucky border.
TBI officials said only 32 of the girl's bones were recovered, but her skull was intact enough for a head and face reconstruction.
Authorities also have dental and DNA records on file.
Investigators said the girl's body had likely been exposed to the elements for more than a year.
Anyone with information on the case is urged to call 1-800-TBI-FIND.
