Live and breathe basketball? Don't miss Memphis' Connect 3on3 Basketball Tournament

Basketball players across the city are working on their shot, putting on their game face, and getting ready to heat up the court and scorch the competition at Memphis' Connect 3on3 Basketball tournament.

In the tournament, teams of three will rock the court to find out who's got what it takes. "The best thing about Connect 3on3 is the caliber of basketball excellence involved and the operational skill behind it," said Josh Rhodes, the 3on3 Team Leader for Connect Ministries. "It's everything the public wants in an outdoor community event. It is an event that speaks a global language, namely the language of basketball. The Connect 3on3 Memphis will display some of the best basketball talent in the nation. It will bring out some of the most exciting athletic ability a basketball city has to offer. People who live and breathe basketball will want to be at this event."

As if the fierce competition isn't enough excitement, five registered players age 18 and older will have a chance to compete in the Hot Shot Competition - and win $10,000.

"Sign up for this event if you want to be part of a one day culture that will offer more excitement than any other public event the city has to offer," said Rhodes. "By registering, you immediately put yourself and your team in the middle of the area's highest level of basketball competition. Who doesn't want that challenge?"

But don't sweat it, bench-warmers - this event isn't just for the athletically-inclined. The entire family will love the activities going on at the Family FunZone from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. With the inflatable fun, carnival games, door prizes, and more, it's the perfect way to spend a Saturday.

Players can register at www.connect3on3.com by Thursday, May 1, at 8 a.m. Cost is $60 per team (maximum of four players per team), and all other activities are free. The tournament starts at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 3.
