ok so my ? what about the father who is the non custodial parent of a wife who left with the 2 kids ages 5 and 11 and whom is now engaged while still married, refuses to work. Kids are on welfare father has to pay child support of 194 a week plus half medical. she is taking him back to court cause hes now making more money and she feels she gets more now. what happens if he works a second job? ps. he visits every weekend friday-sunday.

I think there are just as many bad mothers as there are bad fathers. However, more focus needs to be put on the children. I have a 7 year old child support order, and have been raising my daughter alone since she was 2. I have to make my yearly trips to Juvenile Court, that do nothing but cost me money, because he never pays. I am owed over $46,000 in child support, I have to go back to court Nov. 30th and I can already give you a play by play of what will happen. NOTHING, other me missing more work. Juvenile Court serves no purpose. If you parent a child you should be prepared for everything that goes with it including child support. Parents need to work on their interpersonal relationships, and grow up. I would trade every penny of the $46,000 I am owed, just to have him be the father he was suppose to be. The children get caught in the middle of things they shouldn't have to worry about. The custodial parent shouldn't have to answer questions about why their mom or dad isn't around, or have to explain why there isn't enough money for the toy, they are dying to have. When people decide to part ways you may stop loving that person, but not the child. ITS NOT ABOUT THE ADULTS, ITS ABOUT THE CHILD. Alot of children have been dealt a raw hand in life, and yes non-custodial parents on occasion do to. All we can do is be there for our children and keep them out of grown up crossfires, sometimes one or the other parent needs to wave the white flag, and be the parents they chose to be before it all went bad. For every dad paying child support, sometimes maybe more than they should, remember there are moms like me out there who have never received a dime.

All we hear about non custodial dads is they run out on their kids.  How about the dads who DO pay their support, but are treated like red headed step children by the court system.  They can't deduct the support payments on their taxes.  Yet if there is a Step Dad in the picture he gets all the tax breaks.  They can have a large income and the poor guy gets taken to the cleaners. They are driving around in cars that the child support pays for and the kids get neglected.  All the kids are to Step Dad is a source of income.  I know it is not supposed to come up in court as to the reason for the divorce.  But you have cheating women who cry to the system about their husband's leaving them.  Dad assuming that Mom is going to do right by the children, especially if they are girls and then DON"T.  Mom's partying up a storm, maybe at the casinos, spending the child support money!!!  Then there is no way to get the kids out of the house unless she can be proven unfit.  But if you call DHS, they call first to make an appointment, tipping off the Mom!!!

Mom's are given the benefit of the doubt in the courts.  Putting on the tears, the pitiful looks and wearing their everday clothes so they look abandonded.  Oh, precious mom, can do no wrong.  Hey just because they gave birth doesn't make them maternal.

I have been on both ends of this system.  Being pitiful and leaving the dad out the childrens lives only comes back to bite mom in the butt as resentment when the children grow up.

Something needs to be done to review these cases on a regular basis at NOT at the financial and emotional expense of the Dad.  Mom's who recieve child support should be held accountable for how the money is being spent.

I'm a dad who has struggled paying child support because the payment was way to high to begin with. I got raped from the courts, now I'm constantly being threatened jail time when I cant always go way out of my way to show up for court because of work I get a warrant,  and when I am between jobs there is no excuse for making a little less of a payment than usually ordered. Sending someone to jail and calling them a criminal is just one act of proof of just how unforgiving you cunts are and you have no reason to be unforgiving if you want children so bad, I thought a child was suppose to be a blessing to you hating mothers? My story is almost exactly the same.  My ex-wife started having an affair with her current husband while our daughter was in the hospital having major surgery.  The night she was suppose to pick her up she called the hospital and postponed it for a day.  When I found out I went to the hospital and got her out.

My ex-wife spent the night with her current husband.  They were engaged while we were still married.  She spent the night with the man that she was having an affair with and even brought my youngest daughter with her.

My oldest daughter that had the surgery and I were both worried about her mom and neither on of us could get any sleep.  At a recent trial Dr Pollock of Houston declared that Rita was a good mother.  What BS he has only seen her two or three times in his life.

When I confronted my ex-wife about her afair, I caught her red handed she left claiming I was abusing her.  I could go on and on and just get more depressed.  

She has lied and got away with it four 18 years.  I tried to get justice and I got thrown in jail and I am now 100,000.00 in debt.  The judge believed her lie that her lawyer and she told.  We even had proof that her attorney lied to the judge.  Where is the justice? 

I'm sorry that you are one of the women who doesn't get assistance from your childs father. I have a great husband that takes care of his responsibilities and pays a substantial amount in child support. His babys mother is a money hungry whore. We tried to be civil and ask to reduce the child support but she will not agree to anything less. We now pay 750.00 a month based on his previous income. He no longer gets paid the same and it is actually more than half since we went to court. My husband has always been in his sons life and we have him half of the time. Who the hell helps us pay for his clothes and entertainment when he is with us? She feels as though she should not have to fork over any money at all to support her son. She is currently married to man that has a child and is on probation for not paying his child support. She should see what advantage she has but all she see's is dollar signs in her eyes. It's sad when you give that much money and he comes over hungry in too small clothes. There should be a law passed to verify what the money is being spent on. Why is there not a law that protects fathers who do want to be in their childs life?
