It has come to our attention that your agency has made slanderous and defaming accusations about The Career Training Institute.

On May 29,2008  Ms. Devorney Tate,  Director of A Step Above Preparatory Daycare Center on Mill branch went to the DHS building to turn in paperwork for the relicensing of her child care center.

Ms.Tate councilor is Ms. Roslyn Hall.  Ms Hall told Ms. Tate that her CDA was not accepted by DHS and Ms Angelina Valse and Linda Roach confirmed it. She was told

That the Child Development Associate (CDA) issued by Career Training Institute (CTI) “was not worth the paper that it was printed on”. She then steered her to a trainer by the name of Martha Jackson, to receive the training, who may not be authorized.

Ms Vera Sims program is authorized by Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) as a postsecondary School in good standing. Any Authorized School may issue its own certificates.

This is not the first time CTI has come under fire from DHS. The Owner has talked to Linda Roach and sent her all the credentials of CTI.  The lies and erroneous information given out about this school is defamation of character and slander. This is causing great punitive damages to this business entity's reputation or basic rights, such as the right to be free from interference and to have privacy. This slander has impacted this business.

We demand that you immediately cease and that you desist from this or any other infringement of their rights in the future.

    Respectfully,

    Geraldine Harris

    President CPEA
