Memphis is great because we have a black mayor. yay Oh yeah and we have cime rates that just go up and up. Thats good because the rapers need something to rap about right? Memphis is so cool; rundown building, ignorant black people, a thug as mayor, homeless people everywhere, school system is a joke. I think the best thing for memhis is that it falls in the mississippi river. Black people are a joke just judge people on their color right not on their ability to lead. Just like the O.J. case he was gulity but just cuz he was black the blacks got his black. Pat yourselves on the back blackie you make me laugh so much. Your race is a disgrace. ok so..I ate at Neil's Bar and Grill located at 1835 Madison Ave on Oct 12 2009 and I would like to say the food and service were horrible!!! I ordered sodas--they were flat. I ordered a steak and vegetables and while the steak was scrumptious the broccoli was OVER seasoned so I asked for french fries as a replacement thinking they couldnt possibly screw that up. The fries came back burnt to a crisp and drenched in oil. Both waiters were rude and assholes and one of them refused to continue waiting on me because she was upset that I complained about food that I was spending MY money on. The waiter that replaced her told me he didnt care about what I had to say. he just wanted me to pay and leave. and the third one had the nerve to insinuate that I am a prostitute because he has seen me with two guys in the restaurant before. I dont understand how that question was relevant to the poor customer service and food I received but go figure. I did not leave a tip. I did not eat my steak. I was so furious I paid and left and after the way I was treated last night I will NEVER step foot in that place again!

I'll admit it I am a blogger, that's my way of communicating with American and the surrounding community, therefore I go on other blog site to voice my opinion on different matters, 99% of the time when I blog on most sites it post weather my opinion is pro or con to the article or comments written, and a 100% of the time when I'm commenting on an article or replying to another bloggers it is decent and probably well written, however all the rules and fairness in the decency of blogging does not apply on thaddeusmatthews blog site, the thing is, if Mr Matthews disagrees with what is written on his comment site somehow your comment might not see the light of day on his site, he'll only choose the comments that are stream line with his views only, and discard any that are not with his views, I understand that is his blog site and he is the adminstator of that site, but the dishonesty that he present to the community is wrong if one cannot not refute his claims, my rant is to say that in all fairness if you are going to put something out and not let anyone refute your claims and only pick more of the commets that is inline with your racist views, than his blog site is only for propaganda use only, and is only used to disseminate his ideas only and is not there to services the community. He claims to be the voice for the black community, but how can he be? if he's not allowing other blacks like myself to voice my opinion if it is not inline with his views, to me like many other blacks that I know and talk with understands that Mr Matthews only represent himself and not the black community, therefore his claims like others that agree with him are just down right fraudulent, I am still hoping for that day when the black community will stand up to people like Mr Matthews with his racist views and his claim that all black are like him, because we are not! Thaddeus Matthews does not speak for all of Memphis african American citizens.

Dads who DO pay child support

All we hear about non custodial dads is they run out on their kids. How about the dads who DO pay their support, but are treated like red headed step children by the court system. They can't deduct the support payments on their taxes. Yet if there is a Step Dad in the picture he gets all the tax breaks. They can have a large income and the poor guy gets taken to the cleaners. They are driving around in cars that the child support pays for and the kids get neglected. All the kids are to Step Dad is a source of income. I know it is not supposed to come up in court as to the reason for the divorce. But you have cheating women who cry to the system about their husband's leaving them. Dad assuming that Mom is going to do right by the children, especially if they are girls and then DON"T. Mom's partying up a storm, maybe at the casinos, spending the child support money!!! Then there is no way to get the kids out of the house unless she can be proven unfit. But if you call DHS, they call first to make an appointment, tipping off the Mom!!!

Mom's are given the benefit of the doubt in the courts. Putting on the tears, the pitiful looks and wearing their everday clothes so they look abandonded. Oh, precious mom, can do no wrong. Hey just because they gave birth doesn't make them maternal.

I have been on both ends of this system. Being pitiful and leaving the dad out the childrens lives only comes back to bite mom in the butt as resentment when the children grow up.

Something needs to be done to review these cases on a regular basis at NOT at the financial and emotional expense of the Dad. Mom's who recieve child support should be held accountable for how the money is being spent.

Waterstone Landing Apartments

I am a resident at Waterstone Landing apartments. Since living here it has been a total disaster. I do not want to move because I feel that I should not have to move because of the lack of work the apartment people do. There is a gate around the apartment complex that is not fully connected. We also have a pond that has to literally consist of garbage and whatever else it is that people throw in there. I understand it is up to the people to ensure that our apartment is kept up, but it would really be nice if there were some consequences for the people that destroy the property. I have lived in apartment where if the gate was broken or destroyed by a car then the apartments made sure that the matter was taken care of. I don't understand what is so hard about ensuring that the complex is neat and catered to. I also realize that some residents do not pay rent but I feel that the ones who do follow their contract should not be made to suffer. It literally looks like abandoned homes. I have experienced people just hanging around the complex that don't live there and it is really frightening, to come home from work and see a guy sitting on his bike in the middle of the road. I have also witnessed guys sneaking through bushes and being suspicious. Where as if there was a gate a lot of things could have been avoided. There are garbage bags full of garbage laying around the complex and it really disgusts me. I would really appreciate if the apartments were exposed because the filth that is around is unacceptable and unfair to the residents that actually care.

What happened to the News Media reporting the news

For some reason, the media is unable to report on newsworthy events. There are currently 4500 buses en route to the White House, this is not counting the caravans, or individuals flying in from all over the Country. They are representing concerned citizens wanting their voices heard and their concerns addressed. There were over 1000 Mid-Southerners to receive 3 of these buses last night. There was not one reporter there! Why? I always thought the News media was supposed to report the news, regardless of their personal views. I would think that the Tea Party Express bus leaving from California, stopping at various places across this Nation with hundreds and thousands of people in attendance would be newsworthy but apparently not.

Dog attacks you never hear about - & a message to the media.

Hello everyone, this blog is mainly for the people in the media, but I hope that everyone will view the blog that I attach a link to. I have been keeping a blog for a few months now of dog attacks that do not involve Pit Bulls. What I have learned is this; when a Pit Bull attack is reported, it will be splashed across the headlines in bold, capital letters - PIT BULL MAULS CHILD or something to that effect. Also, they usually will add a picture of a snarling, mean looking Pit Bull. When a different breed is involved in an attack, usually the breed is not mentioned and there will not be a picture available. This is just what I have noticed over the last few months while I have been keeping up with dog attacks.

So, my message to the media is this... I wish that when you report a dog attack, you would be somewhat fair. The fact is that ALL breeds attack, and Pit Bulls are no more of a danger than a poorly raised Labrador. When a Pit Bull attacks, you can bet that everyone will hear about it, even if it is on the opposite side of the state. But when other breeds attack, nobody ever hears about it because they are not reported on the same scale as Pit Bull attacks.

Days pass that I can get NO digital transmission (even though I bought a new expensive antenna). Is this my problem or are there days that the problem is from your end? Any chance ya'll can "bump up" the strength of the transmission? I rescan from time to time to see if that helps, but no....

Kingsbury High School Stundents Do Not Have Schedules!

My Step-daughter goes to school there and when she came home Monday she didn't have a schedule. I figured everything would be ok by today, Wednesday, at least. They are saying that they may have schedules for students on Friday until then the students sit in the same class all day doing nothing. I'm afraid something might go wrong with the students being so aggarvated, there is subject to be fights, arguements, etc... I want to let my step-daughter just stay home to avoid the worry of what could be going on at the school but, she has to go to school. I just hope that schedules are out by Friday. If they have nothing to do in school in all day there is no telling what they might do.

I would like to write about First South Credit Union. Yesterday alittle before 4 p.m. the credit union in Mid-Town was robbed............again...............for the second time THIS YEAR!! After the first robbery you would thing that the credit union officals would think "hey maybe we should do something about our security and try to protect our employees better". NOPE...NOTHING!! So ok I know what your thinking well surely after the second robbery things would change...........NOPE...NOTHING!! Not even a call to check on the employees to make sure they are ok. I urge you to go to their main branch in Bartlett and talk to a credit union offical, you just walk in and ask to speak to one, easy enough........NOPE... they are locked away upstairs safe and sound without a care in the world, meanwhile their employees are scared for their lives. I would really like to see the news team do an investigation on the First South Credit Union officals and see exactly what part of their "family first" image controls security at the branches. For all of you who work at First South Credit Unions I pray for you everyday and hope you can find another job with a company who takes security of their employees seriously.

Budget cuts and violence

I think the violence in our city and what is going on with our politicians goes hand in hand. If we are not putting money into schools and education then how are we to eduacate and change the lives of our rising generation? Our children learn by example and in turn teach what they learn. And if they see those who have sworn a duty to protect and serve them not being held accountable for the decisions that are being made in their behalf then why should we expect them to know any different. The Mayor with all due respect should stop looking out for himself and remember why he made the decision to be in politics. He is a leader in the community and many will follow his example. And we should hold him accountable for his stewardship. And our city should not have to suffer and sacrifice our safety and the future of our children. This is not what America was built on and this is not the heart of Memphis. The Mayor needs to remember who he is and where he came from. Because people cared for him as a child he is where he is today. That same opportunity should be given to the citizens of Memphis. And as we educate our children and show a repect for the law and for the people of Memphis then I believe that things will change. We become what is expected of us. That is human nature.
