Jury selection for former Tennessee state senator John Ford is set to begin Monday, April 9. Ford was indicted on bribery charges in May of 2005 in the FBI's "Operation Tennessee Waltz" investigation. Share your thoughts as the trial unfolds.

Instead of only going after a "handful" of "crooks", why not investigate them all!!  There are more people in government work who do this type of stuff, than there are honest ones!!!  He wasn't the only one "lining" his pockets!!!!!!  "Crucify" them all!!!!!!!!

   I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW JOHN FORD GOT OUT OF THE OTHER CHARGES. HE WON'T BE IN PRISON OVER 2 TO 3 YEARS.  IF ANY TIME SPENT AT ALL.   THIS IS PRETTY TERRIBLE HAVING ALL THESE CORRUPTED POLITICIANS IN OUR COUNTRY.  WHITE OR BLACK.  I LIVED IN MEMPHIS ALL MY LIFE UNTIL THE CRIME GOT SO BAD AND THE TAXES WENT UP.  I DECIDED TO LEAVE THAT CORRUPTED CITY AND LET SOME ONE ELSE TURN THE LIGHTS OFF.  MEMPHIS IS REALLY GOING TO POT IF THEY CANNOT REMOVE MAYOR HERRINGTON OUT OF OFFICE.  I THINK THERE ARE SOME DISHONEST THINGS GOING ON BUT I AM NOT ACCUSING ANYONE  EXCEPT FOR CLOSING DOWN THE FAIR GROUNDS, CITY PARKS, PYRMID, AND A LOT OTHER MONEY PROJECTS THAT KEPT THIS CITY FINANCIALLY STABLE. IT DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE GETTING ANY BETTER.  I DO LOVE MEMPHIS AND MAYBE IT WILL MAKE IT THROUGH THIS TERRIBLE CRISIS. 

The FBI operation is not right yes its wrong what the politicians have done but is even more wrong the way they setup these fictious companies its just a ploy to get african  americans out of office  all of them need to be removed regardless of color  i hopejohn ford just has to pay the money back i would hate to see such a good figure do time due to his age they got him out of office what more do they want?

I DON'T THINK IT HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE COLOR OF THERE SKIN .... THEY ARE ALL CROOKS. BLACK OR WHITE,, JUST PLAIN OLE CROOKS ,, COULD HAVE HAPPENED TO ANYBODY.

Theybare arrogant thugs who use threats and intimidation to get their way. They should get a long sentence. Even if they were purple.

I've known Ford for 35 years, and he's always been an arrogant jackass. I roll in laughter everytime I think about his worthless carcass being locked up. Shooting him  would be a waste of a good bullet.

 OMG!! That is hilarious. Actually,I know some of the Ford's. The ones I know have managed to stay out of the spotlight. I have to admit, that your comments about him got me ROTFL!
You are right though. However, on a side note, what he did to his ex-wife was low of the low. The reason she got all of those DUI's and is now locked up in jail, awaiting her sentencing, is due in part to his ***. She really seems like a nice woman, that got caught up with him and his crap, now she's in jail too, for drunk driving, under the influence, multiple times. I hope she pulls herself together, and concentrate on raising her child, and staying sober too.

no wonder his ex wife has so many problems. I feel sorry for the woman. I would be in drug rehab if I had been married to Mr Ford!
