I ordered sodas--they were flat. I ordered a steak and vegetables and while the steak was scrumptious the broccoli was OVER seasoned so I asked for french fries as a replacement thinking they couldnt possibly screw that up. The fries came back burnt to a crisp and drenched in oil. Both waiters were rude and assholes and one of them refused to continue waiting on me because she was upset that I complained about food that I was spending MY money on. The waiter that replaced her told me he didnt care about what I had to say. he just wanted me to pay and leave. and the third one had the nerve to insinuate that I am a prostitute because he has seen me with two guys in the restaurant before. I dont understand how that question was relevant to the poor customer service and food I received but go figure. I did not leave a tip. I did not eat my steak. I was so furious I paid and left and after the way I was treated last night I will NEVER step foot in that place again!

What happened to the News Media reporting the news

For some reason, the media is unable to report on newsworthy events.
There are currently 4500 buses en route to the White House, this is not
counting the caravans, or individuals flying in from all over the
Country. They are representing concerned citizens wanting their voices
heard and their concerns addressed. There were over 1000
Mid-Southerners to receive 3 of these buses last night. There was not
one reporter there! Why? I always thought the News media was supposed
to report the news, regardless of their personal views. I would think
that the Tea Party Express bus leaving from California, stopping at
various places across this Nation with hundreds and thousands of people
in attendance would be newsworthy but apparently not.

Dog attacks you never hear about - & a message to the media.

Hello everyone, this blog is mainly for the people in the media, but I hope that everyone will view the blog that I attach a link to. I have been keeping a blog for a few months now of dog attacks that do not involve Pit Bulls. What I have learned is this; when a Pit Bull attack is reported, it will be splashed across the headlines in bold, capital letters - PIT BULL MAULS CHILD or something to that effect. Also, they usually will add a picture of a snarling, mean looking Pit Bull. When a different breed is involved in an attack, usually the breed is not mentioned and there will not be a picture available. This is just what I have noticed over the last few months while I have been keeping up with dog attacks.

Have a look at my blog, you will probably be surprised by how many dog attacks there have been in the recent months.

http://dogattacksyouneverhearabout.blogspot.com/

So, my message to the media is this... I wish that when you report a dog attack, you would be somewhat fair. The fact is that ALL breeds attack, and Pit Bulls are no more of a danger than a poorly raised Labrador. When a Pit Bull attacks, you can bet that everyone will hear about it, even if it is on the opposite side of the state. But when other breeds attack, nobody ever hears about it because they are not reported on the same scale as Pit Bull attacks.

Sincerely,

Julz - www.pawsitivepitbulls.com

Yesterday alittle before 4 p.m. the credit union in Mid-Town was robbed............again...............for the second time THIS YEAR!! After the first robbery you would thing that the credit union officals would think "hey maybe we should do something about our security and try to protect our employees better". NOPE...NOTHING!! So ok I know what your thinking well surely after the second robbery things would change...........NOPE...NOTHING!! Not even a call to check on the employees to make sure they are ok. I urge you to go to their main branch in Bartlett and talk to a credit union offical, you just walk in and ask to speak to one, easy enough........NOPE... they are locked away upstairs safe and sound without a care in the world, meanwhile their employees are scared for their lives. I would really like to see the news team do an investigation on the First South Credit Union officals and see exactly what part of their "family first" image controls security at the branches. For all of you who work at First South Credit Unions I pray for you everyday and hope you can find another job with a company who takes security of their employees seriously.

TN Statewide Payroll Conference

THEME: Roll Out the Payroll Red Carpet

I remember as time went on I started to hear that our white population was leaving the city to move too the outer parts of he city... all though that made me very sad I said to myself in that I can do spirit…. we are strong "we meaning people of color could handle the job of run the city, as time went on the city changed, I must admit the mayor has done amazing job with the city infrastructure, but with the citizens of Memphis...oh well, I was always under the belief that moral structures and a properly run organized infrastructure go hand in hand; one can’t work without thee other, however It's beginning to feel like I am living in a modern city with people who process a third world mentality, I care because I love this city and it’s people, I'm starting to wonder who own the city, the people who work hard and want to live a healthy prosperous life or the thugs who's driving down the streets of the city of Memphis creating chaos in their clown cars, really I don't mean to insult anyone, the situation has become dire, where do we start?.... it is getting so I don't hardly even shop in certain areas of Memphis anymore for fear of bodily harm, I want to keep the income and taxes in Memphis but I am becoming concerned for by safety, I am far from throwing the blames of our present problems on the pass, why? because I just don't see anyone whites causing it, all of the problems are coming from people who look much like myself, I remember when I was a little boy my uncle use to say to me for different reasons “you know black people can’t do anything right”, when ask to why he made such statement he would reply “ we can’t do anything right because we don’t like ourselves very much, well” because we don’t like ourselves we also don’t like each other which creates fear, he would go on and say “ because we find it hard to like ourselves and each other we can’t respect our surrounding or organize properly to get anything done long term with a consensus and maintain it long term, my uncle and I use to have long argument about it; even until I reached adulthood he remain steadfast in his beliefs, I on the other hand profoundly disagree with him that we could do it and do it right and long term, so my question is, is the city of Detroit, Mich and Memphis, Tenn. Which are two modern cities and both who’s population is predominantly black doing something that other cities aren’t doing, because I told my uncle to look at the city of Atlanta, ga and how well it is run, what are they doing to lower crime that Detroit and Memphis are not, are these two cities with there ever increasing crime rate making my uncles case for him, are predominantly black run city unable to run a city effectively and reduce it crime rate, who fault is it, is it the city officials fault or the Mayor of Memphis fault to instill in the city a sense of pride and responsibility, is violent crime statistics from the FBI latest 2008 report wrong? I truly would like to know what others think is causing these problems; I would like to hear from others as to what you think, because I am truly concern of our situation.

I have had two surgeries in as many months and am not working as a result of multiple health issues. I can't seem to get help aquireing winter clothing or gifts for my five children anywhere in Memphis. I am deeply saddened and depressed by this. When I was able to, I made a point of charitable giving with my children so that they would know first hand how important charity can be in the lives of others in need. Although they are good kids and haven't voiced any complaints about the absence of gifts this year, I find it hard to look them in the eyes as Christmas nears knowing that I have no "Christmas Magic" to pull out of my hat. I realize that Angel Tree is a popular choice for those seeking help but even Toys for Tots turned me down. What's a mom to do in these uncertain times? I am willing to do any odd jobs for a reasonable wage. Any takers? Does anyone, anywhere in Memphis have a glimmer of Christmas' Spirit of Giving that they are willing to share with my children? They are truely deserving of some compassion and generosity. If so, please post or contact me through my profile. God Bless you, one and all.
What is Going on at the Memphis Animal Shleter??

This evening my son and I watched "Andrew Young Presents", which unsurprisingly lived up to our expectations for a disgraced former UN Ambassador but in at least one way exceeded them.

The opening begins with a carefully scripted beginning and more than a little hubris but at least doesn't stray from the facts. The cameras apparently move inside where things not only are more contemporaneous, but apparently the need to play the blame game and attach race is more than Young can abide.

While young blacks acknowledge the heart of the matter of violence in their community, Young feels obliged to inject the "....organized white groups that hate us."

Excuse me? That sounds so much like echos of the ATKID case and Wayne Williams that it's almost unshakable.

For those that missed it, Andrew Young used his position, influence and everything else to convince the Carter Administration to force the FBI into an investigation they lacked any grounds to be involved in. Undeterred, Carter said "let it be so", and so it was.

Did the investigation proceed normally? No. Blacks in the Atlanta police department was so convinced that whites were behind the murders that they had an unshakable faith, despite a lack of evidence, that anybody other than a black was responsible. This attitude almost derailed the assistance they received from outside agencies as far away as Washington state.

So now, what is it that Andrew Young thinks 'organized white groups' are doing to cause blacks in Atlanta to shoot and kill other blacks? I'd really love to know, but I'm confident he doesn't feel like answering and nobody with a microphone and a camera is going to ask him.

In lieu of that, I'd like to know why a Memphis station aired this garbage? Were they aware of the inflammatory allegations it contained? In light of Andrew Young's comments as a member of the Wal-mart board, albeit temporarily, was that a prudent thing to do?

I think the FCC should look into whether or not they should renew your broadcast license without restrictions or oversight from a racially diverse board drawn from people served in the local community.

tribute to high school music teacher

Hello,

I am working on a tribute for a wonderful music teacher at
Overton High School, Ken Eichholz, and we are looking for
some testimonials from parents, former students, fellow
teachers, etc. If you know of anyone, please let me know.
Thanks so much!

BLACKS ARE NOT THE ONLY RACE THAT HURTS NOW OR THE PAST

I get so tired of everyone playing the I am so sad, hurt, hungry, poor or whatever with the blacks. Ok, we all have bad times BUT...if there is anything FREE anywhere...the blacks are informed about it. A give away here and there and they actually fight over what is free DUH! Check out a parking lot of a giveaway..

All you hear is bad things coming from some ,such as...food is too high, gas is too high...etc. Wow! It is also too high for white, asian, chinese, jews, hispanic and on and on.... and we get special priviledges for those reasons? I don't think so. Do we have all kinds of chairty's and churches and other freebies coming our way? Do you think it is easier for the other races to get jobs?? No! Not at all. FOOD stamps for 90% of blacks. Subsudised Property is everywhere for BLACKS. As soon as they build them, they are moved in and torn up. Blacks just move on to another one. What other race has this option?.

Shoot, most wish they were black...LOL....

Blacks have it better now than ever. They need to stand up and respect all that is coming their way. God has Blessed them but they need to appreciate it instead of bleeding the system dry. No one owes any one anything. I am proud of being my race. I appreciate life itself. I make my life what it needs to be. I struggle and move on in life just as millions of others do and I blame no one but myself if I fail. I want my kids to be proud and NOT for BEGGING, USING, CRYING N WHINING all the time. I want my family to be equal but let them act equal. Let our people stop killing our people or any peoples. Let them Not say CRIME made me do it. If you live a life of crime...blame your self and not your neighbor. We should all love one another and get along the way it should be. There are a lot of people of other races who whine a lot as well. Bottom line ..."THAT IS LIFE WITH EVERY RACE".

STOP WHINING ANDO WHAT YOU NEED TO". We are all suffering.

What do you think?

Hello everyone,
As you know I am not a very political person. I just wanted to pass along
that Senator Obama came to Bagram Afghanistan for about an hour on his
visit to 'The War Zone'. I wanted to share with you what happened.
He got off the plane and got into a bullet proof vehicle, got to the area
to meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is the commander here at Bagram.

As the Soldiers where lined up to shake his hand he blew them off and
didn't say a word as he went into the conference room to meet the General. As he
finished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell (pretty much a big top
tent that military personnel can play basketball or work out in with weights)
so he could take his publicity pictures playing basketball. He again shunned the
opportunity to talk to Soldiers to thank them for their service.

So really he was just here to make a showing for the American's back home
that he is their candidate for President. I think that if you are going to
make an effort to come all the way over here you would thank those that are
providing the freedom that they are providing for you.

I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players or the Dallas
Cowboy Cheer leaders than from one of the Senators, who wants to be the
President of the United States. I just don't understand how anyone would
want him to be our Commander-and-Chief. It was almost that he was scared to be around
those that provide the freedom for him and our great country.

If this is blunt and to the point I am sorry but I wanted you all to know
what kind of caliber of person he really is. What you see in the news is
all fake.

In service,
CPT Jeffrey S. It is a policy I strongly advocated when I was manager of Project REACHH, the original name of the federally funded program at the Shelby County Division of Corrections cited as recently hiring ex-prisoner Michael Hooks Jr. (July 23 article).

However, this is not why Hooks was hired. Like virtually everyone else working on the program at this point, he was hired because he has connections in high places. Look at most of the staff working on Project REACHH today and you will find a blood, friendship or fraternity relationship to Shelby County Mayor A C Wharton; Walter Crews, deputy director of the county's Division of Corrections, or Division of Corrections director Andrew Taber.

As the Corrections Division's grant-funded program manager in 2006, I designed Project REACHH and wrote the proposals that got it funded. I had in mind the needs of Memphis area families and children affected by crime, poverty and incarceration and the interests of the entire community at heart.

However, my intentions were quickly short-circuited into a five-month paid suspension when I objected to the patronage and misrepresentations that followed the funding. I took a job offer in another city early this year and now direct a similar program in five medium- and maximum-security prisons, soon to expand to four more prisons.
Programs for prisoners, their families and their children are sorely needed and can work. They should and could be staffed by former prisoners who have truly transformed their lives and have the qualifications and ability to motivate those still struggling to find the right path.

Unfortunately, in Memphis, misuse of funds, failure to deliver services and other highly inappropriate behavior have taken place under the guise of providing programming.

I am sorry I had any part in this misuse of taxpayer dollars and in the false face that is being placed on a needed and cutting-edge program. As he was in the Tennessee Waltz investigation, though, Hooks is again just the tip of the iceberg.

Randi Blumenthal Guigui

Mount Kisco, N.Y.

That is hard testimony to refute or ignore.
Something needs to be done about SCCC and this most recent theft ring!

ELECTRIC CARS!!
