    Pit Bull Attacks

I was just wondering when the state was going to outlaw the pitbull breed in Tennessee, How many more kids and other animals have to be attacked before something's done?

The public would be far better off when the laws are made more strict for those who TRAIN, ABUSE, and FORCE dogs into dogfighting! The current laws are not even enforced. If you try to ban a breed, the criminals will continue to stay underground and mix breed pit bulls and other dogs like rottweilers and mastifs. It's amazing how some will blame an animal or a breed for what sub-humans make them do.

Are you a idiot or what. Band a breed of dogs, why dont you band a race of people when a few of them  kill. More people die each year from smoking, driving, swiming with sharks and lighting than pit bulls. They are dogs some will be bad.

Yes! I agree 100% with you being a pitbull owner myself!  Best dog I've ever had never had a problem with the dog around my kids, nieces, nephews, or any of my friends kids! But I must say to all dog owners never leave any dog unattended with any child no matter what!!!!!!!!!!

It ain't YOUR kids people worry about, it's THEIR kids when somebody else's pitbull gets loose.
They banned them in NY and crime using them went away.

"They banned them in NY and crime using them went away"?

    -----------------------------------------------------------------

Where in NY have pit bull terriers been banned?   If they did, their idiots and I'm certain crime didn't go away.  In New Your City an ordinance was passed in 2007 to significantly increase  penalties for owning or having dogs used for fighting,  but the breed was not banned. NY pit bull fighting rings are being arrested and being sent to trial in 2008. Banning a breed, or blaming a breed, for viciousness of HUMANS punishes responsibe dog owners and simply drives the slugs running fighting rings deeper underground. It certainly does not stop them because 'the law' does not interest the scum that run dog fighting rings. Ask Mike Vick!!!!!

There are many mixes that are difficult or impossible to identify without DNA. If one breed is banned, these lowlifes will simply switch to another breed.  The dogs many get on their soapbox about banning are the same breed that ARE reliable therapy dogs, assistance dogs for handicapped owners, search and rescue dogs, drug-sniffing dogs, police dogs! Thinking that banning a particular breed for what ignorant, sadistic HUMANS do is assinine.
