Attention needs to be focused on County Schools also.

I am a parent of a county school student (Shadowlawn Middle School). She was transfered from city schools. First off when i went to register her they acted like her coming to the school was so amazing. the lady in registration asked all kinds of questions about city schools and so on. The first incident i had with the school was a discrimination incident on the school bus where the kids had been complaining about a young calling the black children out of their name and cursing them. the bus driver did nothing on this particular day he continued to call my daughter out her name and threw a bottle at her. my daughter wrote a bad comment and threw it back my daughter was suspended and he remained able to ride the bus. Then they took forever to give my daughter her books stateing that they had to reorder more. I don't have a car but talked to Mr. Mcdonald when ever i could. Don't get me wrong my daughter is not innocent and she was involved in incidents at the school she shouldn't have been in. On the last incident that lead to me contacting the board and not getting anywhere i went to the school and talk to Mr. Mcdonald and Mrs.Swindel. Mr. Mcdonald seemed very understanding but did not know half of the things that were going on his school. kids been threatened with knives gang violence sex and more. When i talk to Mrs Swindel after a conversation where i was constantly catching her in false statements. She replied to me that your daughter deserves whatever she gets you people should have stayed where you were. when i asked what she meant by that she stated she was done with the conversation and that i shouldn't have went the board. After that conversation she continued to make smart comments to my daughter. My point is that why we are paying so much to whats going on in the city schools we need to pay attention to the county schools to before things get more out of hand. We as parents should do our part but we should also feel that we can send our kids to school and they be treated fairly and not picked on or jugded because the color of their skin or where they come from.  I need to know where to go from here.

If you truly feel that this is a case of discrimination do what your are already doing, continue trying to shed light on your situation; have you talked to the school board?, the one thing that difinitely won't help is your daughter or you acting out against the discriminators, the collecting of imformation time, place, when, where etc, is important and witness or others who have been discriminated against also is very important, you along without witness to the situation will be hard but not impossible: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
