Will You Be Driving During The Summer And Holidays - Paying Those High Gas Prices

I know that Memphians have experienced the shock at the pumps. Gasoline prices out of control. The problem has always been there ever since Bush has been in office. The oil business is where they made their money, and they are still making money to this day.

The Oil companies here in the US are posting record number profits in the BILLIONS. Do you know why? It is simply, a case of supply and demand. As long as we are willing to pay a high price for gasoline, and as long as we continue to demand it at the pumps, we will continue to see this problem, and it will not go away until we decide to either curb over consumption, stop purchasing these gas guzzling vehicles, that some of us cannot afford to put gasoline in them in the first place.

The problem will also will not go away, until a new president is voted in the White House. So with that being said, don't travel over the holidays by using your car, find alternate modes of transaportation. But,  as you might suspect,  any company using  any mode of transporation  will be affected.

However, if we reduece our consumption, curb our demand for gasoline, the price will fall like a rock..
For example, look at the price of gasoline during the winter. it was low due to Americans not traveling, or not driving as much.

This is definitely an American problem and a Memphis problem, you see most Americans have a on going love affair with there cars, there nothing like the feeling when the rubber meets the road, but when the gas pumps meet the gas tank, that's another story, so some will be force to park it and others will buy no matter what the price. If gas prices rise as is expected this will be good for the local economy, folks with stay closer to home and vacation in the surrounding areas--------this forums is sort of connected to the one I wrote about (Will Memphis or Mississipi every get another theme park ),due to the fact that we will lose to other area theme parks such as St Louis Six Flags and Arkansas Magic Springs & Crystal falls, my point is since the closeing of Liberty land we have no place in Memphis to take our childern other than to wait on the mid-south fair once a year also Memphis and Mississipi could use the money for own economy.

I am not driving any far distance this summer. I have already planned a trip by air to The Caymans and this trip was planned 8 months ago. Other than that, I am staying home and put.

I wish somebody would post some specific information on how the Bushes are making money off the high price of gas. I've heard a lot of accusations but never, not even once, a company they own or have stock in or anything.
Till then, I'll use the "stimulus" money I got that will pay for all my gas all summer long plus some.
I hope they have enough "stimulus" to get me an electric car too.
